The Dubai Fountain

October 4, 2014, and it's Eid Al Adha celebration. We're having our holiday (No work) here in UAE.  I and My friend Anita went to Burj Khalifa to see the spectacular dancing fountain at Dubai Mall.

The night time coordination between the lighting and the water is amazing. The water moves gracefully in arcs then pulses with a rhythm that seems alive. The finale shoots water up in the air for what appears 150 feet. The best place to view the fountains is from the patios of one of the restaurants around the pool. I watched it from the ground only because the restaurants are all full timely for the show.

The Dubai Fountain is the world's largest choreographed fountain system set on the 30-acre manmade Burj Khalifa Lake, at the center of the Downtown Dubai development in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

From Wikipedia:
The Dubai Fountain was designed by WET Design, the California-based company responsible for the fountains at the Bellagio Hotel Lake in Las Vegas. Illuminated by 6,600 lights and 25 colored projectors, it is 275 m (902 ft) long and shoots water up to 500 ft (152.4 m) into the air accompanied by a range of classical to contemporary Arabic and world music. It was built at a cost of AED 800 million (USD $218 million).

The name of the fountain was chosen after a contest organized by the developer Emaar Properties, the result of which was announced on 26 October 2008. Testing of the fountain began in February 2009, and the fountain was officially inaugurated on 8 May 2009 along with the official opening ceremony of The Dubai Mall. On 2 January 2010, the length of Dubai fountains was increased to 275 m (902.2 ft).

Burj Lake Boat Ride. Ticket (AED 65) counter opposite 'Wafi Gourmet' near the lake,
counter opens from 5:45 pm till 10:30 pm. Max 6 persons per boat.
The ride is about 30 mins, boat departs approx every 30 mins.
Apparently, you can also book the ticket online.

Early for the show is a must when visiting the City. The fountains are situated at the rear of the mall.
A wonderful display truly breathtaking. They only last for five minutes or so
but are repeated each evening several times. There are plenty of bars to sit and watch
the display but many just gather there along the mall to watch.

When visiting Dubai Mall I came across Wafi Gourmet. I am so happy I found this place. When I walked in from inside the Dubai Mall I didn't realize that you can see the fountains from the cafeteria terrace on the other side. Then I saw all the wonderful food presented beautifully. Service is good and prices are reasonable.

Wafi Gourmet, is Lebanese cafe, with Lebanese maze and food,
it's nice complex of the cafe, herbs market and fruit corner and Oriental pastries.
